Cafe Merlin in Gelnhausen

Iconic café opposite the train station. During the day you can have breakfast, drink coffee and start everyday life there. The waitresses are mostly very attentive and friendly. There is even a separate room for smokers or a stop in front of the door. Not every smoker likes to sit in a fully smoke-filled room. ? You can also order many other things between sandwiches, pizza and scrambled eggs with sucuk. It's great to enjoy your evening beer after work while you're waiting for the train. In the evening, however, the café is more like a bar, because in most cases more beer and cocktails are served over the counter. Unfortunately, Corona is currently no longer the same extent as in normal times, but it is still worth a visit.

Absolute insider tip. Located directly at the train station, the "Cafe Merlin" serves you incredibly quickly and very nicely. The menu ranges from an extensive breakfast, the famous "Merlin toast", surprisingly good pizza to excellent Turkish specialties. Of course, you can also get a very good cafe and Turkish salep. The prices are absolutely okay !!! A little anecdote: a friend once unpacked the food he had brought with him. That was no problem at all for the operator. I was completely speechless. Probably the best cafe far and wide.

Somewhat filthy and unsavory locality. The manager or owner or chieftain with a giant fighting dog sat in the dining room, no one needed. Service friendly and tried hard but forgot the order 3 times. The place to drink is ok, but food would be too unappetizing opposite the train station.

A meeting place for young and old, centrally located at the train station, whether for breakfast, coffee or tea or a beer, here you can spend a few nice hours in a rustic setting. For the small hunger also something is offered. The mostly young staff is very attentive and accommodating. For smokers there is a separate area.
